Bashing Jill Stein Is as Pointless as She Is

Third party politics aren’t real politics; they’re politically-themed cosplay. It’s something people do to give themselves a feeling, by having an experience that bears a surface resemblance to politics.

The same goes for people obsessing over third-party politicians. Denouncing Jill Stein isn’t real politics, either. It has nothing to do with accomplishing any goal outside yourself. It’s something people do to give themselves feelings.

  1. Exactly. Also, gosh, I wonder who this could be directed at.

(I do, in all seriousness, and I don’t; there are a lot of candidates, but some are more egregious than others).

I guess there may be a very tiny sliver of Stein supporters or potential Stein supporters (who are already a tiny sliver of the population) who may react to being shamed by reconsidering and moving towards the Dems. But at a certain point you have to ask yourself about bang for your buck.
